Operations for adhesive disease

Operations for adhesive disease
When does adhesive disease occur?
Films or strands of connective tissue, which seemingly "glue" the organs of the abdominal cavity together, causing changes in their anatomical arrangement, are called adhesions. They arise as a result of a particular response by a special isolating tissue membrane, which triggers the process of new connective tissue growth. Often, their formation is preceded by surgical intervention. Also, among the causes of adhesive disease, one can identify autoimmune factors, infectious and inflammatory processes, chemical, or mechanical impact. For surgical intervention, the laparoscopic method is predominantly used. Symptoms and diagnosis of adhesive disease Since the formation of adhesions is characterized by the fusion of connective tissue, as a result, it may lead to the compression of organs and disruption of their function due to strictures or torsions, as well as complete or partial obstruction (for example, (fallopian tubes or intestines). The main symptoms include pain, digestive disorders, infertility. Asymptomatic forms, which do not bother the patient, do not always require surgical intervention, but the disease is insidious and can manifest itself in the most serious way, requiring immediate surgical intervention. Diagnosis of adhesions includes taking medical history, ultrasound diagnosis of the abdominal cavity, Doppler imaging, and other methods. The further course of action is determined by the attending physician. Surgeries for Adhesive Disease
Despite the fact that the majority of adhesions are caused by previous surgeries, surgical intervention is also required for their removal. Each clinical case requires a unique approach to treatment and there are no universal methods, however, laparoscopic adhesiolysis is most commonly used. With its help, the division of adhesions occurs without opening the abdominal cavity, leaving minimal scars afterwards, and achieving minimal trauma. Only small punctures are required for a specially designed endoscope and two (maximum, three) auxiliary tubes. For the dissection of connective tissue neoplasms, it is possible to use laser, electric, and hydrodissection methods. The operation is conducted under general anesthesia. A significant lesion of the abdominal cavity, peritonitis, or the presence of intestinal fistulas is a contraindication to the surgery. Advantages of Laparoscopy The modern method of performing surgery for adhesive disease using laparoscopic adhesiolysis significantly reduces recovery time, allowing the patient to return to their normal life rhythm much faster and without suffering from pain syndrome. This method also virtually eliminates infections and the development of complications. At Genesis Dnepr Clinic, state-of-the-art equipment is available, which, combined with the professionalism of experienced surgeons, Guarantees successful performance of operations for adhesive disease of any complexity.
