Oncodermatology. Removal of moles, papillomas...

Skin neoplasms are visibly altered fragments of the skin surface. These can be: moles, papillomas, keratomas, condylomas. They can be congenital or acquired during life.

Causes leading to neoplasms can be very different:

- genetic predisposition;

- excessive exposure to the sun, sunburns;

- weakened immune defense;

- age-related changes;

- hormonal disorders;

- viral infection;

- gastrointestinal diseases.

Why is it necessary to remove skin neoplasms?

Typically, skin neoplasms draw attention due to aesthetic considerations. A mole on the face, papillomas on the neck, warts on the hands, keratoma on the cheek, and similar formations on the skin make many people feel dissatisfied with their appearance and insecure about themselves. Sometimes, the reason for seeking medical help is physiological discomfort - when moles are located in areas of constant friction with clothing.

What are the types of skin neoplasms?

Skin neoplasms can be benign or malignant. The former are much more common than the latter. When removing any skin lesion or if malignancy is suspected, we conduct a histological analysis of the removed lesion, which is performed for our patients by a modern specialized laboratory. Moles suspected of being malignant are necessarily examined with a dermatoscope. A special place among skin neoplasms is occupied by sexually transmitted condylomas – either solitary or multiple. They can affect both the mucous membranes and the skin of the external genital organs. When condylomas accumulate around the anal opening, the entrance of the vagina, or the urethral canal, patients are advised to undergo additional examinations: examination by a proctologist and a gynecologist. Advantages of laser removal of moles and papillomas (CO2 fractional laser): - good cosmetic effect;

- gentle effect on the skin;

- rapid healing;

- no harsh deforming scars after healing;

- the method does not require general anesthesia, everything is done under local anesthesia.

With professional removal of moles, warts, or other skin lesions, the patient does not need to change their usual lifestyle.
