ABOUT POLLEN
Pollen contains fats, proteins, carbohydrates, various vitamins, microelements, and other substances beneficial to humans. It consists of: sugars — 18%, fats — 3.33%, proteins — 24.06%, mineral substances — 2.55%, lactic acid — 0.55%.
In other words, pollen contains all the microelements necessary for the normal development of a living organism. It has been found to contain 28 chemical substances and a lot of potassium. It is also rich in iron, copper, and cobalt, as well as important microelements such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, manganese, chromium, iodine, and others. Additionally, it includes various vitamins, particularly carotenoids — provitamin A (for example, yellow acacia pollen contains 20 times more than red carrots), B vitamins, vitamins E, C, D, P, PP, K, and others; phytohormones that stimulate plant tissue growth, and substances with antibacterial effects. Pollen also contains many phenolic compounds with diverse properties: anti-atherosclerotic, anti-inflammatory, capillary-strengthening, antioxidant, diuretic, choleretic, anti-tumor, etc. Previously, they were classified as substances with vitamin P activity, but recent studies have shown that phenolic compounds do not contain vitamins; they are independent biologically active compounds with therapeutic and preventive effects. They are necessary for maintaining health.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POLLEN USE
RESTORING STRENGTH
Pollen is prescribed for athletes and anyone who needs rapid recovery of strength, as well as those who are frequently and chronically ill. It should be taken from 1/3 to 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day.
BOOSTING IMMUNITY
Pollen is also recommended as an immunostimulant. In this case, it is taken 1/2 to 2/3 teaspoon 2-3 times a day for 3-4 weeks. For children, the dose is reduced to 1/4 to 1/3 teaspoon 2-3 times a day.
PRE-OPERATIVE PERIOD
During preparation for surgery and after it, pollen is taken 1/2 teaspoon 2-3 times a day. The treatment course is 3-6 weeks. If taking a mixture of pollen with honey in a 1:1 ratio, the dose is 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day, and if the mixture is prepared in a 1:2 ratio, it is taken by dessert spoon 2-3 times a day. Weakened patients are sometimes recommended to undergo two monthly courses of pollen intake with a 10-day break between them.
POLLEN FOR STOMACH AND DUODENAL ULCERS
Pollen in mixtures helps with stomach and duodenal ulcers. The pollen dose is 1 teaspoon 3 times a day. Pollen is more effective in a mixture with honey (1:1). The dose is a dessert spoon 3 times a day. If the ulcer is accompanied by increased stomach acidity, the mixture should be taken 1.5-2 hours before meals or 3 hours after meals, but it must be diluted in warm water (this reduces acidity). For low acidity, the pollen and honey mixture is taken dissolved in cold boiled water immediately before meals, which promotes gastric juice secretion and increases acidity.
POLLEN FOR LIVER DISEASES
Pollen also treats liver diseases. The dose of the pollen and honey mixture (1:1) is initially a dessert spoon, after 1-2 weeks a tablespoon of the mixture, which is diluted in warm boiled water and drunk before meals 3 times a day. The treatment course is 3-4 months with a break after 4-6 weeks for 2-3 weeks.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Despite its many beneficial properties, pollen has contraindications. It should not be consumed if allergic to flowering plants. It is also important to consider that excessive consumption of pollen can harm the liver and significantly reduce blood clotting.
