Reasons for performing an ultrasound of the urinary system:

• The presence of stones, cysts, or tumors.
• The condition of the renal pelvis and calyces.
• The volume of residual urine in the bladder.
• The thickness of the bladder walls, presence of inflammation, or neoplasms.

When it is prescribed:

Preparation for the procedure:
• For bladder examination, it needs to be full.
• It is recommended not to urinate 1. 5-2. 0 hours before the procedure.
• No special preparation is required for kidney examination.

How the procedure is conducted:
• The patient lies on a couch on their back or side.
• The doctor applies gel to the skin of the lower back and abdomen and moves the transducer in different positions.
• For bladder examination, the transducer is placed on the lower abdomen.
• The examination lasts about 10 minutes.
