Why is an ultrasound of the male reproductive system performed?

• Presence of fluid or inflammatory changes in the scrotum.

When is it prescribed:
• For pain in the lower abdomen, scrotum, or perineum.
• For urinary disorders, frequent urges to urinate.
• When prostatitis, adenoma, or tumor is suspected.
• In cases of infertility or reduced potency.
• For preventive purposes after the age of 40 (especially for prostate monitoring).

Preparation for the procedure:
• For transabdominal ultrasound of the prostate, a full bladder is needed — do not empty the bladder for 2 hours before the examination.
• No special preparation is required for the examination of the scrotum and testes.
