CORDYCEPS (THAILAND)

Scientific names: Cordyceps Militaris, Cordyceps Sinensis
Wild Cordyceps Sinensis – Caterpillar Fungus
CORDYCEPS (THAILAND) | Urology
Included in the standard protocol for the treatment of Lyme disease (borreliosis).
Function: modulation and normalization of the damaged immune system.
Therapeutic Properties:

In traditional Chinese medicine, Cordyceps was considered a very special tonic and was presented to the imperial court and other Chinese dignitaries. The first written reference dates back to the year 620. Traditionally, it was used as a tonic for the lungs and kidneys, making it beneficial for respiratory diseases, physical exhaustion, and nervous weakness. Impaired sexual function, libido, and productivity are also key reasons for the use of Cordyceps in traditional Chinese medical literature.

Anti-inflammatory Properties of Cordyceps

Beta-glucans and cordycepin in Cordyceps Militaris are the main components responsible for its anti-inflammatory action.

Since autoimmune disorders are often accompanied by inflammation, the use of Cordyceps in such conditions may be a good strategy. In vitro experiments on rheumatoid arthritis have also shown that Cordyceps reduces inflammation levels. Additionally, Cordyceps enhances oxygen utilization at the cellular level, which also contributes to lowering inflammation.

Testosterone

Cordyceps has traditionally been used to improve sexual performance, low libido, and as an aphrodisiac. Modern medicine also indicates that Cordyceps has good androgenic potential. Animal studies demonstrate that Cordyceps reduces reproductive system damage while simultaneously increasing testosterone levels, sperm count, and sperm motility.

Type 2 Diabetes

Cordyceps helps manage symptoms of type 2 diabetes, such as high blood glucose levels, weight loss, and excessive thirst. It has also been shown to have protective effects on the kidneys and antioxidant properties.

Cardiovascular System

Cordyceps lowers low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels. Its strengthening and protective effects on the cardiovascular system are due to its antioxidant properties. Components of Cordyceps lead to a cardioprotective effect. In Chinese medicine, Cordyceps is used for cardiac arrhythmia.

Dosage: The typical dose reported in scientific literature is 1-3 grams per day, with up to 1 gram per month used as a maintenance dose. Of course, this depends on the form of intake and concentration of active substances. Generally, higher doses are applied for noticeable effects. In one study investigating improved physical performance, 4 grams per day were administered.
