What does ROPA mean
?
ROPA is a reproductive method,
also known as double motherhood,
Inter-spousal Egg Donation or Reciprocal IVF, which means receiving oocytes from a partner.
ROPA
procedure
Through the ROPA technique, both women participate in the pregnancy process.
This method has become very popular among same-sex female couples,
as it allows both partners to experience the motherhood process.
One woman will be the genetic mother,
and the other will carry the future child.
The ROPA procedure in IVF is similar to a cycle with a donor egg, where one woman acts as the donor, and the other is the recipient of the embryo and can ultimately become pregnant with the help of donor eggs. The IVF protocol for the ROPA method is no different from the IVF protocol with donor eggs.
Criteria and requirements for the woman,
которая будет донором яйцеклеток:
• The candidate must be of reproductive age,
preferably between 21 and 30 years old,
without genetic disorders
• Must have a good egg reserve and respond optimally to ovarian hormonal stimulation
• Must not have sexually transmitted diseases
For the implementation of the ROPA method
,
the woman receiving the embryos,
must undergo the following tests:
• Gynecological ultrasound examination to check the condition of the uterus and rule out any pathologies that may affect embryo implantation and pregnancy progression
• Serological examination,
to rule out the presence of sexually transmitted diseases
Success Rates in ROPA Method
Success rates for the ROPA method are similar to those of IVF,
as the most significant factors are the reproductive age and ovarian reserve of the donor.
