OZEMPIC
OZEMPIC - Instructions for Administration:
The pens come in several variations, the most common being 1.34 mg/ml in 1.5 ml. For injections, NovoFine Plus needles 0.23x0.24x4 mm are used, which need to be purchased separately. The pen contains 4 doses of one mg each.
1 mg - 72 clicks
0.5 mg - 36 clicks
0.25 mg - 18 clicks
1) An unopened pen should be stored in the refrigerator. After opening, the pen can be stored either in the refrigerator door or outside, but at a temperature below 30 degrees...
2) Before use - take the pen, remove the cap. Take a new needle, remove the inner cover, and screw it onto the pen...
3) Remove the two outer covers...
4) On the lower indicator, make a click from the "zero" position to the image of a syringe with two drops, press the button at the bottom of the pen...
5) If a drop appears at the end of the needle, the pen is working. If there is no drop, repeat the procedure up to 3 times. If after 3 attempts there is still no drop, the pen is faulty...
6) If you are just starting therapy, you need to inject 0.25 mg - this is 18 clicks on the pen (starting from the image with two drops). If you are increasing the dose, it is 36 clicks (0.5 mg)...
7) Hold the pen at a 90-degree angle, and inject into the abdomen/shoulder/thigh. Insert the needle fully, press the button, and the pen will count the doses...
8) After injection, slowly count to 6 and remove the needle. Carefully remove and dispose of it, and put the cap back on the pen. (Administer the next dose at the same time next week.)
If you have a pen with different doses or are unsure about the amount, just monitor the amount of liquid in the vial (it is transparent). The manufacturer usually adds a little extra. Once the liquid is finished, the pen can be replaced...
