HYSTEROSCOPY

Hysteroscopy of the uterus is a modern diagnostic procedure for detecting or subsequently treating diseases of the uterine cavity and cervical canal. The operation itself is a minimally invasive surgical intervention. How hysteroscopy is performed: a hysteroscope with a miniature video camera is inserted into the uterine cavity through the vagina, and the doctor examines the uterus internally using this device and lighting.

HYSTEROSCOPIC RESECTION

Hysteroscopic resection is a minimally invasive endoscopic surgery that allows the following manipulations under visual control:

  • removal of submucous (submucosal) uterine fibroid nodes;
  • treatment of hyperplastic processes of the endometrium;
  • division of adhesions in the uterine cavity;
  • removal of endometrial polyps;
  • removal of endometriosis foci.

Video control during the operation allows the doctor to perform the surgery with maximum precision, quickly and, most importantly, gently!

This is extremely important for female reproductive health. Hysteroscopy at "Genesis Dnipro" includes: - Diagnosis of uterine, endometrial, and endocervical pathologies; - Anesthesia; - Removal of neoplasms (hysteroscopic resection); - Hospital stay (if necessary); - Histology of the tissue. • Your most common questions about hysteroscopy

    Is it possible to perform hysteroscopy without anesthesia?

    Yes, it is possible - just as it is possible to treat teeth without anesthesia. In our clinic, all such procedures are performed under sedation.

    How does office hysteroscopy differ from the usual one?

    During office hysteroscopy, a thinner (diameter 2.0 mm) hysteroscope is used, it is only used for examining the uterine cavity - that is, for diagnostic purposes. Our office hysteroscopy is also performed under anesthesia.

    Can there be abdominal pain after hysteroscopy and how long can it last?

    After hysteroscopy, some patients may experience mild pulling pains in the lower abdomen - lasting from several hours up to 1 day.

    How long does the hysteroscopy surgery take?

    From 15 to 30 minutes.

    What is the recovery period after hysteroscopy?

    After the procedure, you will stay in the clinic for about 3 hours. The full recovery period takes no more than 3 days - during which it is forbidden to: visit saunas, baths, swimming pools, bodies of water, and engage in sexual activity. Lifting heavy weights is also prohibited.
