RALOXIFENE (ITALY)
Raloxifene 60 mg
Indications for Use
• Treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
• Reduction of the risk of invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis or at high risk of developing breast cancer.
Method of Administration and Dosage
• Recommended dose: 1 tablet (60 mg) once a day, regardless of meals, with water.
• Take daily at the same time.
Contraindications
• Venous thromboembolism (including deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, retinal vein thrombosis) in active phase or history.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding period.
• Childhood (safety not established).
• Severe liver failure.
Side Effects
May include:
• Hot flashes
• Leg cramps
• Peripheral edema
• Flu-like symptoms
• Thromboembolic complications (rare)
If side effects occur, consult a doctor.
Special Instructions
• Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
• Caution is required in patients at risk of thromboembolic complications.
• Adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D is recommended for osteoporosis.
• Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, out of reach of children.
