Preparation rules for tests for the andrological (testosterone) Check-up:

Test timing: strictly between 7:00 and 10:00 AM, as this period is the physiological peak of testosterone production.

Preparation: tests must be done fasting after 8–12 hours of starvation. Only plain still water is allowed.

Physical activity and lifestyle: intensive exercise, alcohol consumption, and visits to baths and saunas should be avoided for 48 hours prior to the examination.

Sleep and stress: ensure a full night’s sleep of at least 7–8 hours the night before and avoid significant psycho-emotional stress.

Repeat testing: if borderline low total testosterone levels are detected (less than 12.1 nmol/L or 350 ng/dL), a repeat test is recommended in 1–2 weeks with mandatory SHBG level determination.
